BIKINI BERLIN

An out-of-the-ordinary ensemble

One of the most exciting properties in Bayerische Hausbau's portfolio: In 2003, the company acquired the Zentrum am Zoo, a listed ensemble of buildings in Berlin's City West district and thus a property steeped in tradition but getting on in years. Following extensive renovation work, a vibrant urban quarter was created that has once again been attracting people from Berlin and visitors from around the globe. At the heart of the ensemble lies the Bikinihaus building, home to the internationally renowned concept shopping mall BIKINI BERLIN.

The ensemble also includes a hotel with a rooftop terrace and bar, as well as the revitalized legendary Zoo Palast cinema. The architectural design created by the Dutch architect and artist Arne Quinze, which was executed by the Munich architectural firm Hild und K Architekten, carefully picks up the thread of the property's history and its core ideology.

Taking a look at the ensemble

BIKINI BERLIN

Successful transformation

Following top-to-bottom renovation in 2014, the ensemble on Berlin's Breitscheidplatz is a major attraction in the City West district. At the heart of the complex lies BIKINI BERLIN, the concept shopping mall where exceptional brands and innovative store concepts are showcased.

BIKINI BERLIN

Retaining its charm

BIKINI BERLIN's special appeal is a product of its long and eventful history and the vibrant architecture of the 1950s. The original charm of the ensemble has been revived in the new building and combined with modern elements such as an outside staircase.

BIKINI BERLIN

More than just out-of-the-ordinary

Unlike conventional shopping centers, BIKINI BERLIN sees itself as an exceptional compilation of carefully curated boutiques, concept and flagship stores, as well as bars, restaurants, cafes and service providers. It boasts an open architecture that fills the building with light.

BIKINI BERLIN

Great view included

A highlight of the concept shopping mall is the rooftop terrace that offers a spectacular view of Berlin's zoo. Kantini – a food market with a colorful mix of 14 eateries offering a wide variety of international dishes and an 18-meter-long loggia with a view of the zoo – awaits visitors on the first floor of the mall.
