Project Development

Parkside Lokstedt

Multiple generations in a historic residential area

The residential complex in Hamburg, which includes 141 condominiums, was implemented in a joint venture with the German property developer BIG-ANLAGEN GmbH and was completed in March 2013. Four investors were involved in what was the city's largest construction project at that time: A total of 620 new apartments and a daycare center with 120 places were created. Following completion, the project won first prize in an urban development competition. Despite the high degree of redensification, the district – once an exclusive residential area – has retained its character. The quiet streets are lined with old trees and the urban quarter itself is almost car-free.

Breaking down barriers, bringing generations together

Walk-in showers and a pirate ship in the garden. Large elevators and a climbing tower with tube slide. Wide corridors that can accommodate both wheelchairs and prams. Parkside Lokstedt offers amenities – and variety – for all generations. All the apartments have parquet floors with underfloor heating and, for warmer days, a terrace, balcony or rooftop garden – and , of course, threshold-free doors. Twenty-six units have been designed specially to meet the needs of older people.
